Age Appropriate Fitness Activities

The Y has something for everyone! Below are age-appropriate activities your child can take part in. Specific activities may differ depending on the Y branch you attend. Don’t forget, one Y membership gives you access to all four Y branches!

Ages 5-7

  • Y Kids Classes
  • Kids Gym
  • Swimming (with parental supervision)
  • Basketball (with parental supervision)
Ages 8-11

  • Y Kids Classes
  • Hallway games (check out equipment at desk with ID or membership card)
  • Group exercise classes (with parental supervision; some restrictions apply)
  • Cardio equipment (after orientation with parental supervision)
  • Swimming
  • Basketball
Ages 12-14

  • Group exercise classes (no BODYPUMP)
  • Hallway games (check out equipment at desk with ID or membership card)
  • Strength and cardio equipment (after orientation)
  • Swimming
  • Basketball
Ages 15+

  • Full facility access

Dreamr® Creative Lab

Calling all future YouTubers, Recording Artists, Producers, Game Creators and more! The Cox Innovation Lab, located at our Heinrich YMCA and our Dreamr Creative Lab, located at our Durango Hills YMCA are open and are ready to help you pursue your dreams! Come see what these one-of-a-kind spaces are all about. Ages 10-18 welcome. Free for Y members! Check the front desk for current schedules and to register for open lab and/or workshops.
