Early Learning
Y Preschool prepares children ages 3-5 for future success through evidence-based curriculum that encourages hands-on learning and exploration. Our friendly, safe environment promotes positive social interactions, problem solving, and lots of fun! Our caring teachers support an educational process of learning through creative play while incorporating the Y’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and empathy into every lesson. It’s what makes our preschool extra special!
The Y uses the HighScope Method, an evidence-based curriculum, and is nationally accredited through QRIS to ensure Kindergarten readiness. Your little learner is sure to make new friends, create memories, and develop a love for learning!
Growing with HighScope Curriculum
Our preschool utilizes the HighScope Curriculum, a comprehensive evidence-based curriculum, that is one of the strongest early childhood education curricula in the nation. It supports active learning to inspire each and every child to become a more creative, confident thinker by integrating exploration and discovery as a way of learning.
The curriculum also incorporates authentic observational assessments and progress reports that are conducted within 30 days of the child’s enrollment in the program, mid-year, and within 30 days of the child leaving the program.
Building Parent-Teacher Relationships
The Y’s wholistic approach to our families is what sets us apart from other preschools. Families have access to YMCA centers to pursue health benefits, preschoolers will participate in free swim lessons, and families will have access to all free family engagement programming. Communication about your child’s day is vital to building strong parent-teacher relationships. We use a parent-friendly platform that allows teachers to share photos, videos, and updates with parents throughout the day safely and securely.
Providing High Quality Education
Early childhood education programming at the YMCA develops cognitive, social-emotional, and motor skills with each child’s critical growth years and meets all standards for kindergarten readiness. Our curriculum is built around teacher and child, initiated learning activities in six main content areas: language, literacy, and communication; mathematics; social and emotional development; physical care and development; creative arts; and science and technology.

Affordable For All
Every child deserves access to high-quality early childhood education, and a family’s financial situation should never be a barrier. At the YMCA, we offer preschool programs for ages 3–5, including early pre-K options for younger learners, at our Las Vegas locations. We proudly accept Urban League, Child Care Aware, and PALCO at all centers, making our programs for 3- and 4-year-olds more accessible to local families. Contact our business office to learn how you can apply for available subsidies.
Whole Child Development
Our preschool programs for ages 3–5 use the HighScope curriculum, an evidence-based approach that supports active, hands-on learning for young children. Designed for both 3- and 4-year-olds, our early pre-K programs help build confidence, independence, and school readiness. We also incorporate the Dr. Yum curriculum to teach children how to make healthy food choices and stay active. Social-emotional learning is woven into every part of the day, helping children develop strong relationships and essential life skills.
High Quality Staff
Our licensed, highly skilled teachers are passionate about early childhood education, and it shows in the supportive, nurturing care they provide every day. With extensive training in early learning, our educators are experienced in working with preschool-aged children, including 3- and 4-year-olds in both early pre-K and pre-K programs. In addition to 32 hours of early childhood training, Y teachers participate in ongoing professional development, including annual trainings, continuing education, development days, and external quality assessments. Our preschool programs exceed Nevada state staff-to-student ratio requirements, ensuring each child receives the attention they need to thrive.
