is an educational
and stimulating camp designed for pre-school children.
Activities include circle time, crafts, gross motor development
activities, fun play, songs and more! |
| Kinder Camp |
is perfect for
first-time campers. This traditional camp engages youth with
arts & crafts, fun, friendship, swimming, games, theme weeks,
and singing. |
| Adventure Camp |
is about fun,
friendships, and activities - from arts & crafts, sports and
group games to character development and special events.
Exciting field trips are planned! Campers visit the aquarium one
week and learn how bagels are made the next! Day campers swim
and celebrate weekly themes. |
| Archery Camp |
instructs campers on
bow and arrow techniques and target shooting. Professional
instructors lead camp at Pacific Archery Sales, Schiff Drive.
Campers break balloons and earn awards. (Limit: 26 campers) |
| Baseball/T-ball
Camp |
teaches baseball
fundamentals in a fun character-building environment. Children
have a blast learning field positions, catching, throwing and
batting. |
| Basketball Camp |
focuses on passing,
dribbling, and shooting. Campers gain confidence and learn good
sportsmanship. It's a slam dunk! |
| Bowling Camp |
improves techniques
through bowling activities. Campers watch their skills progress
by recording game scores daily. Striiiiike! All materials
provided. |
| Cheer Camp |
enhances flexibility
and strength while emphasizing tumbling and presentation.
CheerYnastics campers enjoy cheerleading, gymnastics, and take
home a handmade shirt. Wear sports shoes and shorts. |
| C.I.T. |
is the YMCA's
Counselors in Training program. CIT participants expand their
leadership knowledge while working with younger campers. All
Counselors in Training must practice the Y's four core values
and demonstrate great interest in working with younger campers.
Prospective Counselors in Training must qualify for the program. |
| Cookin' Kids
Camp |
makes junior chefs
out of campers. Participants cook tasty treats while learning
safety and healthy meal prep techniques. Bon appetit! |
| Dance Camp |
teaches ballet,
jazz, tap, hip-hop and combo. Participants prepare all week for
a fun Friday performance! |
| Flag Football Camp |
lets campers perform
drills, learn skills, and participate in games and a tournament
under YMCA staff supervision. Huddle up campers - everyone is a
winner! |
| Performing Arts
Camp |
includes instruction
in dance, vocal performance and drama. The week ends with a
musical production for friends and family. |
| Rock Climbing Camp |
teaches exciting
climbing skills and trust building at the Powerhouse Rock
climbing Center, W. Charleston. Professionals lead
instruction. Parents MUST sign waivers. |
Indoor/Outdoor
Soccer Camp |
focuses on the
fundamentals - dribbling, kicking, passing and scoring.
Campers learn teamwork and gain confidence. No
benchwarmers at the Y! |
| Taekwondo Canp |
teaches self-defense
skills, discipline, and self-esteem during great coed workout.
This discipline naturally incorporates the four core values of
honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility. |
| Tennis Camp |
gives campers the
option of attending morning tennis camp and adding Adventure
Camp in the afternoon. Camp features "stroke of the day," games
and match play. Lessons start at 8 a.m. |
| Volleyball
Camp |
includes drills,
clinics, scrimmages and tournament play with age-appropriate
equipment. Players bump, set and spike their way through the
week. |
| Wrestling
Camp |
teaches fundamentals
like takedowns, pinning combinations and sportsmanship matches.
Unlike WWF, this camp enforces Olympic wrestling rules. |
| Y-World of Sports Camp |
scores big with
campers who want to shoot hoops, hit home runs, score goals, and
swim! Campers learn fundamentals, sportsmanship, and enjoy daily
non-competitive games. Sports may include basketball, soccer,
flag football, and baseball. |
