Lifeguard Training (15+
yrs.) - results in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR and First
Aid Certification when successfully completed. Candidates must be
able to swim 100 yards freestyle, 100 yards breaststroke and 100 yards
of either stroke, without stopping and recover a 10 lb. brick from the
bottom of pool and swim
while holding the brick for 20 yards.
The prerequisite swim test will
be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on the Monday prior to the class start date.
Only those who pass the swim test will be allowed to register.

Water Safety Instructor
(16+ yrs.) - teaches participants how to conduct swimming lessons
for all ages. Candidates must be able to swim 25 yards of front
crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, sidestroke, breaststroke and
butterfly at intermediate level. Must be able to tread water,
float on back for one minute. Must hold current Fundamentals of
Instructor Training certificate of current American Red Cross Health &
Safety instructor authorization.
