YMCA and Heinrich Family - A Lasting Friendship

Dear members and friends of the YMCA:

A familiar name, a friendly face, and outstretched hand, these are just a few of the giving qualities of the Heinrich family, longtime friends and supporters of the YMCA of Southern Nevada. As the Las Vegas community has watched the YMCA grow and flourish these passing years, the Heinrich family has been the cornerstone of our development.

The Heinrich family's support of the YMCA of Southern Nevada began when Bill Heinrich bravely stepped forward to lead the community in rescuing the YMCA. In February of 1983, when the YMCA was facing the turmoil of potentially closing its doors, Bill provided the lead gift in saving the community's beloved place o build strong individuals and families alike. Bill's endorsement continued to grow, as his relationship to the Y strengthened over the years. Due to his continual and ever increasing advocacy, the YMCA of Southern Nevada has been able to implement many new programs, classes, and outreach events for members of the community.

It was after the tragic loss of Bill Heinrich, his son Greg decided to follow in his father's footsteps and continue providing the YMCA of Southern Nevada with substantial financial support, as well as serving on its Board of Directors. To date, the Heinrich tradition of giving continues. Bill's loving wife, Lillie, recently provided the largest gift in the history of the YMCA of Southern Nevada, donating $1 million from the Lillie and Bill Heinrich family, true friends of the YMCA of Southern Nevada.

A sincere thank you to the Heinrich's and all of our supporters,

Mike Lubbe
President and Chief Executive Officer
