Membership
A YMCA membership provides much more than access to our state-of-the-art facilities and programs. It offers a sense of well being and belonging. It represents a positive attitude toward health, fitness and one another. YMCA members are a fellowship of families – individuals of all ages and fitness levels – who have accepted the mission of enhancing their quality of life. Your YMCA membership is an invitation to an opportunity that will change your family’s life. For the better. Best of all, we’ll be there for you every step along the way. Join Now!
Your YMCA. Your Way.
Maybe you remember your mom buying a family membership to the YMCA of your youth. Perhaps your grandpa had a senior membership and the hot football player next door had a student membership.
Categories are for tax forms!
You’re unique. We’re dedicated to understanding the specific health and wellness needs of your family. Do you and your daughter want to take fitness classes? Are your four school-age kids in need of daycare? Maybe you’re a mom and also happen to share your home with your active older mother – three generations, three side-by-side treadmills. No problem.
Maybe you’ve pinpointed your needs or want to consider new activities (think rock wall climbing!) after visiting our three branches. We’ll create a membership package that’s just for you. No gimmicks. No tricky sales. No hassles. We’ve been serving this community for 65 years. We value our reputation too much to tinker with the trust we’ve earned. Period.
Responding to Community Need
When there’s widespread community need, we provide solutions and serve our mission in unprecedented ways. If you have a deployed military family member, this special membership may provide the perfect opportunity to de-stress, gain self-esteem and reconnect as a family.
Military Memberships (FREE!): YMCA of the USA, the Armed Services YMCA and Department of Defense have launched the YMCA Military Outreach Initiative to address the needs of families of deployed military personnel who live far from a military installation and require access to child development, family strengthening, and health and well-being programming. Eligible military families and personnel include:
-
Families of deployed (deployment must be for a minimum of six months) National Guard and Reserve personnel (Army/Navy/Air Force/Marine Corps).
-
Active duty and their families at independent duty locations. Independent Duty personnel are Active Duty Service members who are serving in a location remote from a military installation. You must be approved by Service POC (please call Military OneSource for contact information) and complete the Independent Duty Eligibility Request Form.
-
Active duty personnel and their families assigned to newly established joint bases.
-
Relocated spouse and family members of deployed active duty personnel (deployment must be for a minimum of six months).
The Department of Defense will underwrite memberships at participating YMCAs for an initial six-month period for each eligible family and service member. Membership renewals in subsequent six-month intervals (up to 12 or 18 months depending on eligibility) will be funded based on a military family's or service member's ability to meet the participation requirement of eight visits to a YMCA each month.
To sign up today, follow these simple steps:
-
Contact Military OneSource at www.militaryonesource.com or 1-800-342-9647 to confirm eligibility and receive an eligibility form.
-
Complete and bring your eligibility form, Military ID and any other required documentation (generally your Deployment Orders or Military Service Headquarters approval letter) to your closest YMCA branch for verification (do not leave copies at the YMCA).
Fun Fact: The term "bodybuilding" was first used in 1881 by Robert Roberts, a member of the staff at the Boston YMCA. He also developed the exercise classes that led to today's fitness workouts.
