Become a Volunteer

At the YMCA we build strong kids, strong families and strong communities. Lend your time and talents so together we can build a healthier Southern Nevada. As a volunteer, you’ll enhance the wellness of local families, maybe even your own neighbors. Volunteering can also improve your life. Here’s how:

  • Build your network of professional and personal contacts.

  • Sharpen your abilities and gain marketable job skills.

  • Explore personal hobbies and activities.

  • Gain confidence as a leader.

  • Fulfill service requirements.

  • Create memories while making a positive impact in a welcoming environment.

A Call to Lead   Are you a natural born leader? Do peers turn to you for advice? Are you an industry expert or corporate executive? You may be a candidate for our volunteer board of directors. Our board members provide strategic direction and organizational governance, lending their business acumen to key operational areas. They believe so strongly in the YMCA that they personally contribute and raise funds to help us meet the goals of our Strong Kids Campaign. Contact Mike Lubbe, President and CEO, to learn more.

Hands-On Service Maybe you played basketball in college or always wanted to be a pastry chef. Perhaps you have a knack for fractions or enjoy directing people at special events. Chances are good we can find a volunteer experience to match your skills, interests and schedule. Whether you want to lead exercise class, read to children, tutor teens, coach sports, greet members, assist in the office or whip up something tasty for a special event, there’s a place for you at the YMCA. Contact Kathleen Potter, to begin a rewarding volunteer experience today.

Youth Opportunities From toddlers to grandparents of toddlers, everyone feels at home at the YMCA. The same goes for our volunteers. Service learning and youth opportunities are available. For more information, contact Kathleen Potter.
