Youth & Adult Sports
Mikel′s YMCA Dance Academy (3 years - teen) Your dancer will receive training in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop and combo. Dancers can also join the dance team and perform at special events. Call 592-8747 for more information. Registration is required.
When: Mondays, 4-5 p.m. (6 years - teen); 5-6 p.m. (3-5 years)
Cost: $42 monthly plus fee for costume/pom poms
Tiny Tumblers (3-5 years, potty trained)
Little ones playfully learn gymnastics, positions and terminology while improving motor, social and listening skills. They also learn to follow directions. Class incorporates locomotive and eye-hand coordination. Class is not parent involved.
When: Saturdays, April - August, 10-10:50 a.m.
Cost: $42/month (4 classes per month)
Lil' Flippers (6-9 years)
Older kids get the best of Tiny Tumblers (above) and more in an age-appropriate class. Class is not parent involved.

Rising Stars (4-7 years) By instructor invitation only.
Now that your gymnast has mastered the basics, our instructor will take your athlete's performance to the next level.

Shotokan Karate (4 years+, adults and families welcome)
A Japanese traditional martial art, Shotokan Karate is not only one of the best self-defense methods, it's one of the best ways to learn foundational life skills such as confidence, focus, discipline, structure, accountability and memorization. With a growing number of children and adults suffering from obesity, ADHD and other challenges, Shotokan Karate provides an ideal, safe solution while combining visual, auditory, cognitive and experiential learning in every practice session.
Your instructor is Sensei "Nick" Catalin Neagu, a 5th degree black belt who has trained nationally and internationally for more than 30 years. Sensei "Nick" is the founder of Las Vegas Karate - Do. He has also been recognized many times as a gold medal winner of national and international competitions in KATA(forms) and KUMITE (sparring). He is a JKA chief instructor and JKA Romanian head coach. He specializes in combining the best of traditional Japanese karate with the principals of modern athletic training methods and nutrition.

Tae Kwon Do (6 years+, adults welcome)
Learn from leading Tae Kwon Do instructor Matt Lusk, who teaches beginners through advanced belts.
When: Mondays and Wednesdays, 6-7 p.m. (beginners, 8-12 years)
Mondays and Wednesdays, 7-8:30 p.m. (advanced, belt)
Sessions: A new session begins the first Monday or Wednesday monthly. Sign up the first of each month.

Taijutsu Advanced Class (14 years+)
Instructor Jim Cavaness builds on the fundamentals taught in Safety and Survival Through Martial Arts and focuses on the traditions, schools of thought, technical movements and tools that lead to attaining a safe, happy, healthy and abundant life. Martial arts uniform required.
When: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7-8:30 p.m.
Cost: $77 monthly or $11 drop-in fee
YMCA Hoops
Basketball Academy (6-16 years)
Dribble! Shoot! Score! The crowd cheers! Learning is fun in this developmental skills program for boys and girls. Youth hoop it up while sharpening all aspects of the game, including defense, ball handling and shooting. For sign-up information, call (702) 240-9622.
