YMCA of Southern Nevada Swim Team
Swim team focuses on conditioning, stroke mechanics, endurance, competitive skills, sportsmanship and self-discipline. A tryout is required to secure a spot on the team.
Tryouts: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:45 p.m. and from June-September, Monday - Thursday, 6:20 p.m., outdoor pool

Bronze Group: Swimmers must be able to demonstrate 50 yards of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and dolphin kick. The focus is on skill development. Practice is one hour, four days a week.
Cost: $52 per month
Silver Group: Swimmers must be able to perform all four competitive strokes legally, dive and be physically and psychologically able to swim for one hour, four days a week. The focus is on laying the foundation for aerobic fitness while learning competitive swimming terminology and use of a pace clock. Practice is 75 minutes, 15 minutes of stretching and one hour in the water, four days a week.
Cost: $57 per month
Gold Group: Swimmers must be able to swim a legal 200 IM, have a basic understanding of competitive swim terminology, be able to calculate sendoffs using a pace clock and be physically and psychologically ready for strenuous 60-minute workouts five days a week. The focus is on developing high-level aerobic and anaerobic fitness while learning advanced competitive swimming concepts and goal setting. Practice is 75 minutes, 15 minutes of stretching and 60 minutes in the water, five days a week.
Cost: $62 per month
Senior Group: Swimmers must be able to swim a legal 400 IM, have a thorough knowledge of competitive swim terminology, be proficient at using a pace clock and be ready for 15 minutes of stretching and a strenuous 90 minute swim workout five days a week. The focus is on achieving each swimmer's maximum potential. Practice is one hour and 45 minutes, 15 minutes of stretching and 90 minutes in the water, five days a week.
Cost: $67 per month

Swim Camp
Is your child too advanced for swim lessons but not quite ready for swim team? Try swim camp! Swimmers must be able to swim 50 yards freestyle, 50 yards backstroke and 25 yards breaststroke, or have completed our fish swim lessons. Swimmers learn butterfly stroke, backstroke flip turns, freestyle flip turns, starts and work on their endurance for all four strokes through stroke mechanics and conditioning.
When: Tuesdays and Thursdays for 8 weeks, 4 to 5 p.m.
