Gymnastics

Gymnastics (18 months - 13 years)
The Vitaly Scherbo School of Gymnastics has been working with Nevada's youth since 1998. Your child will learn in a positive atmosphere with a highly qualified U.S.A.G. staff hand-selected by Vitaly Scherbo, one of the most accomplished and decorated men's gymnasts. He is a six-time Olympic gold medalist! The program's mission is to help students prepare for life's future experiences and challenges by physical and mental conditioning, which instills pride, self-esteem and personal confidence. Gymnastics programs run year round.
Cost: $110 per session, session runs 8 weeks, once a week for 45 minutes Spring I & II
Cost: $69 per session, session runs 5 weeks, once a week for 45 minutes Summer I & II
Sibling Discount: Second child receives $5 off; third receives $10 off
Pre-Registration: Only available for current students - get $10 off. (You must sign up three weeks prior to start of new session.)
Class Attire: Girls - leotards, hair tied back, barefoot, no jewelry; Boys - tank tops (Walmart), shorts, barefoot

Team Handball - NEW!
Team Handball Training (ages 10-adult)
It's fast, physical and exciting! Team Handball, introduced as an Olympic sport in 1972, combines elements of indoor soccer, water polo and basketball. Each team has seven players, including a goalie. All levels are encouraged to experience this up-tempo, exciting sport. Mikel's YMCA Dance Academy

Designed to teach fundamentals, encourage a love of the game, but most of all HAVE A BALL! Classes are taught by qualified, enthusiastic instrutors who have years of experience. Every player gets a FREE T-Shirt! Shin guards and athletic shoes required. Sign up TODAY, spaces fill quickly.

Basketball Academy
Youngsters will have fun while learning sportsmanship and the fundamentals of the game. Program runs year round on a month-to-month basis and meets once a week for 50 minutes.

Ages 9-14: Monday at 6 p.m.

Volleyball
Las Vegas Volleyball Academy (ages 5-adult)
Male and female players at all levels (beginner/developmental to advanced/competitive) get to the next level offensively and defensively in a fun, friendly environment. The academy includes drills and scrimmages designed to teach and improve passing, hitting, serving, setting, communication and teamwork.

Martial Arts
Shotokan Karate (4 years+, adults and families welcome)
A Japanese traditional martial art, Shotokan Karate is not only one of the best self-defense methods, it's one of the best ways to learn foundational life skills such as confidence, focus, discipline, structure, accountability and memorization. With a growing number of children and adults suffering from obesity, ADHD and other challenges, Shotokan Karate provides an ideal, safe solution while combining visual, auditory, cognitive and experiential learning in every practice session.
Your instructor is Sensei "Nick" Catalin Neagu, a 5th degree black belt who has trained nationally and internationally for more than 30 years. Sensei "Nick" is the founder of Las Vegas Karate - Do. He has also been recognized many times as a gold medal winner of national and international competitions in KATA (forms) and KUMITE (sparring). He is a JKA chief instructor and JKA Romanian head coach. He specializes in combining the best of traditional Japanese karate with the principals of modern athletic training methods and nutrition. Tae Kwon Do (5 years+)
Youth learn Olympic-style Tae Kwon Do techniques from instructor Willie Chalmers. Beginner classes are available. Master Willie has been studying martial arts since the age of 10, excelling in Karate Do, Kung Fu, Boxing and Mastering Taekwondo. He spent more than 12 years in the U.S. Army training fellow soldiers in martial arts. He has accomplished being a military All Army Champion and military world team member as well as sparring champion in state and regional tournaments, including coaching. Master Willie specializes in structured martial arts. If you are ready for a challenge, come be a part of our team. This will change your life forever!
