Rock Wall

Rock wall climbing hours for members are:
Monday - Thursday 4:30 to 8 p.m
Friday 4 to 6 p.m.
Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

 

Gymnastics

Brought to you by My Little Star Gymnastics and the Y!
Your little star is our little star! My Little Star Gymnastics classes are taught by Miss Elena, a professional member of USA Gymnastics since 2000 with 20 years coaching experience including with the Olympic reserve school of gymnastics-Russia. A former performer with Cirque de Soleil (Quidam), Miss Elena has lived and coached in the Las Vegas Valley for more than 12 years where she raises two little stars of her own!

Little Munchkins (6 - 16 months)*
This class is for parents and children to enjoy together while getting them ready for the next level. (Parent participation required.)
Thursdays: 11:30 a.m.-12 p.m.

Little Twinkles (16mo – 3 yrs)
This class is for beginners and will allow the children to explore the exciting world of gymnastics. (Parent participation required.)
Thursdays: 12:10-12:50 p.m.

Little Sparkles (3 – 4 ½ yrs)
These children are already strong in their balance and coordination and are ready to sparkle their way into new endeavors. (No parents inside the class.)
Saturdays: 1:25 – 2:10pm

Little Stars (4 ½ - 6 yrs)
These little stars can already perform a variety of skills from handstands to cartwheels and are ready to take on new challenges. (No parents inside the class.)
Thursdays: 1 – 1:50 p.m.
Saturdays: 12:30 – 1:15 p.m.

Stars (7-13 yrs)
These children are already strong in their balance and coordination and are ready to take on new challenges. (No parents inside the class.)
Saturdays: 2:20 – 3:10 p.m.

Little Angels (under 10 yrs)
This class is for children with special needs.
Saturdays: 3:10 – 3:45 p.m.

Monthly Y Member Cost (all classes except Little Munchkins):  $56, session runs monthly, once a week  
Non-Member Cost:  $70, session runs monthly, once a week* 
Drop In: $18 per session
*Registration fee (per year): $40 individual / $55 for 2+ children

Youth Dance Classes (3-5 years)

Join the fun! In the Y's new Youth Dance program, we'll be giving your child the experience of learning different areas of dance all in a one-hour class. This gives them the chance to learn new skills and techniques while having fun and interacting with other children their own age. Skills learned include: ballet, tap and jazz technique, performance skills, routines and strength, flexibility and coordination.

Cost: $52 per month for members; $69 for community members (plus a $40 program fee)
When: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10-11 a.m.; classes run monthly

 

Tennis

The YMCA tennis program is led by Jerry Johnson, who personally coaches participants in all of the classes and drills. Coach Johnson has been with the Bill & Lillie Heinrich YMCA for 15 years. Itty Bitty Tennis (4-6 years)
Little players learn game basics from Jerry Johnson, head of the Y's tennis program
When: Saturdays, 9-10 a.m.
Cost: $56

Junior Tennis (7-14 years)
Are you an aspiring tennis pro? Learn tennis fundamentals including grips, ground strokes, footwork, volleys, serving, scoring and basic rules. Play games too! This class includes singles and doubles experience, and an introduction to playing local tournaments. Intermediate and advanced classes include live ball drills designed for playing matches.
Beginner: Mondays, Wednesdays, 5-6:30 p.m.
Intermediate: Tuesdays, Thursdays, 5-6:30 p.m.
Advanced: Go to Advanced Adult Drills upon approval by Jerry Johnson (for 15 years+)
Cost: $63 members; $76 community members

Adult Beginner Class (15 years+)
Tennis is a lifetime sport, and it’s never too late to pick up a racquet. Jerry Johnson teaches fundamentals such as grips, ground strokes, footwork, volleys, serving, scoring and basic rules.
When: Wednesdays, 6:30-8 p.m.; Saturdays, 10-11 a.m.
Cost: $50 members; $64 community members

If you already play and want an invigorating workout, this is the program for you. Drills are for singles and doubles, plus match play.
When: Mondays, 6:30-8 p.m.

Tennis Advanced Adult Drills (15 years+)
If you’re an advanced player looking to increase your stamina, this is the ideal drill session. Drills are for singles and doubles, plus match play.
When: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:30-8 p.m.
Cost: $50 members; $64 community members
* Drop-ins welcome for $11 daily.

 

Martial Arts

Shotokan Karate (6 years+, adults and families welcome)
Students gain insight and learn techniques of this traditional Japanese martial art, including discipline, self-confidence, memory, strength and more. Your instructor is Sensei Catalin Neagu, a 5th degree black belt who has trained nationally and internationally for the past 30 years. He has won the U.S.A. National Karate Federation National Karate Championship, among other awards.
When: monthly sessions
Mondays: 5:30-6:30 p.m. (Beginners and Intermediate) 
Wednesdays: 7-8 p.m. (Beginners and Intermediate)
Cost: $52 members; $69 community members

Tae Kwon Do (6 years+, adults and families welcome)
Learn from Master Gary A. Bosse, USTF state director for Nevada and 7th degree black belt. Participants develop the spirit, mind and body through Tae Kwon Do techniques.
When: ongoing monthly sessions - Tuesdays & Thursdays, 7-8:30 p.m.
